What it does
Organize PDF pages shows every page of a PDF as a tile, so you can put the pages in a new order, turn the ones that came out sideways and take out the ones you don’t need. Your original file isn’t changed: the result is a new PDF with your changes.
- Reorder: drag a tile to a new place, or select pages and use Move earlier and Move later.
- Rotate: Rotate left and Rotate right turn the selected pages a quarter turn.
- Delete: Delete removes the selected pages, as long as one page is left. A PDF needs at least one page.
- Start over: Reset puts every page back in the file’s order, unturned.
When no page is selected, the buttons act on the page you last clicked or moved to.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF on the box, paste it, or select Choose a file. Select “Try a sample” to see a 6-page example.
- Select pages by clicking them, or press Select all. Click a page again to clear it, or press Clear selection.
- Move pages with the mouse by dragging a tile. On a touch screen, drag the handle on the tile; a swipe anywhere else scrolls the page.
- With the keyboard, use the arrow keys to move between pages, Space to select, Enter to pick a page up and the arrow keys to move it, R and Shift+R to turn and Delete to remove.
- Select Download PDF, or press Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac). The file is named after yours, such as
report-organized.pdf. Press Esc to stop a save that’s still working.
Good to know
- Pages are copied as they are, so text stays sharp and pictures keep their quality.
- A preview may show some fonts or pictures differently from your PDF viewer, and a page that can’t be previewed shows “No preview”. The pages in the file you download aren’t affected.
- Password-protected PDFs, and PDFs locked with restrictions, are refused. Save a copy without the protection first.
- The document’s bookmarks and its list of attachments aren’t kept; comments and files attached to a page stay with that page.
- Fillable form fields and the accessibility tags that give screen readers the reading order aren’t carried over. The new file has no title or author from the original.
Limits
You can organize one PDF at a time, up to 100 MB and 500 pages. Adding another PDF replaces the one there.
Privacy
Your PDF stays on your device: the tool runs in your browser and doesn’t upload it. The new file starts without the original’s document details, such as title, author and the app that made it. Pictures inside the pages are copied as they are, along with any data they carry. When the site shows ads, Google can use cookies for them: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first, and elsewhere Google’s own policies apply. The Privacy page explains how.
