What these tools are for
Image tools take care of the small jobs that come up when a picture has to go somewhere. The image resizer makes a photo a set width, height or percentage, so it fits an upload form, a web page or an email without being turned away for its size. The image converter turns a picture into JPG, PNG or WebP when a site or app won’t take the format you have. The image compressor makes JPG, PNG and WebP files smaller and shows how much each one saved. Drop in one image or twenty: each one is processed as soon as it arrives, and its card shows the result in pixels and in bytes before you save it.
How they work
Your images are processed by your browser, on your device. They aren’t uploaded, and there’s no account or sign-up. Each new image is made from the pixels alone, so camera details and location data from the original are left out.
Tips
- Check the size the site asks for. Many upload forms list a largest width in pixels or a largest file size in MB.
- Fewer pixels make a smaller file too. The compressor’s Also shrink to at most, under More options, resizes and compresses in one step.
- Keep a copy of the original. A smaller image can’t be made sharp again by enlarging it.
- Photos taken sideways on a phone come out upright, so you don’t need to rotate them first.
- Download all saves every finished image in one ZIP file.
