What these tools are for
Finance tools do the arithmetic behind prices, marks, budgets and sales figures. The percentage calculator works out a percentage of a number, what percent one number is of another, and the percentage change from one value to another. It answers as you type and shows the sum with your own numbers, so you can check the working instead of trusting a bare figure. The loan EMI calculator works out the monthly payment on a fixed-rate loan, the total interest and a repayment schedule by year or by month, in whole cents.
How they work
Your numbers are calculated by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there’s no account or sign-up. Open a calculator and it starts with an example already worked out; change any number and the answer follows.
Tips
- Every calculator shows how it got its answer, and Copy result puts the answer on your clipboard.
- Results are rounded for display only, and the page says how. A small result that isn’t 0 never shows as 0.
- A percentage change is measured against the starting value. A rise from 4% to 5% is 1 percentage point but a change of +25%.
- A loan’s schedule can be copied as a table and pasted into a spreadsheet. Fees, insurance and taxes aren’t included in its figures.
- These calculators do the sums; they don’t give financial advice.
