What these tools are for
E-commerce tools take care of the small jobs around listing, labelling and shipping products. The barcode generator turns a product number or SKU into a barcode you can print on labels and packaging: EAN-13 and UPC-A for shop shelves, EAN-8 for small packs, ITF-14 for outer cartons, and Code 128 or Code 39 for SKUs and stock you track yourself. It adds or checks the check digit of a product number and saves the barcode as a PNG or an SVG. The QR code and barcode scanner reads the codes in a photo or screenshot and lists what each one says, ready to copy: a product number, a link or a stock code.
How they work
Everything is made by your browser, on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there’s no account or sign-up. The barcode generator opens on a worked example, with the barcode already showing, and follows each value you change; the scanner reads a picture as soon as you add it, and Try a sample shows a report first.
Tips
- Numbers for barcodes on products sold in shops come from GS1. The tools draw a barcode for a number you have; they don’t issue or register numbers.
- An SVG stays sharp at any size, which suits print; a PNG is ready for screens and quick prints.
- Print one label and scan it with the scanner you’ll use before printing many.
