When WebP to PNG helps
Logos, icons and product cut-outs on the web are often delivered as WebP with a transparent background. Design tools, slide decks, sticker printers and some image editors want PNG instead. Converting to PNG keeps the clear areas clear, so the picture still sits cleanly on any colour, and gives you a lossless file that later edits won’t soften.
How to use this page
- Add WebP images: drop them on the box, paste a copied image, or use Choose files.
- PNG is preselected under Convert to, so conversion starts straight away for every file.
- Each card shows the old and new size; save it with Download, or save the whole set with Download all as a ZIP.
- Select “Try a sample” to convert two example WebP pictures, a logo with see-through corners and a sunset.
What to expect
- Size: the PNG is usually larger than the WebP, a lot for photos and less for flat graphics. The result card shows how much.
- Transparency: kept exactly. The sample logo’s corners stay fully clear in the PNG.
- Quality: PNG is lossless, so the Quality slider has no effect on these files.
- Dimensions: width and height in pixels stay as they were. A JPG, AVIF, GIF or BMP image added here is saved as PNG too, and any transparency it has is kept.
Privacy
The images are converted by this browser tab on your own device, and they aren’t sent anywhere. The PNG is rebuilt from pixels only, so any camera details or GPS position in the WebP are left behind.
Limits
At most 20 pictures in one go, with each file under 50 MB and 50 megapixels. Animated WebP images are not supported yet.
